If you’re a ‘community manager’ like I am, managing Facebook, Facebook fan pages, and Twitter accounts can drive you nuts. Here’s some sanity for you: use Seesmic Desktop — it’s a free tool that manages all three easily!
Here’s why I love it:
- The desktop version is an AdobeAir app which meets my Windows/Mac/Linux cross platform compatibility requirement.
- It can manage your status updates to Facebook and track news updates from Facebook.
- It can manage multiple twitter accounts and let you post the same tweet to said accounts.
Here’s the bonus: It can post to Facebook fan pages! I’m not aware of any other tool that does that [doesn't mean there isn't one, I'm just not aware of it yet] but the fact that this tool does all three critical activities for community managers in one place makes it a keeper! Doesn’t mean that I don’t love Hootsuite for autotweeting my rss feed and allowing multiple people to manage my twitter accounts, but Seesmic Desktop is a rising star you should download today…
