Welcome to February! The first month of the new decade is over and the big news is that Steve Jobs is pissed and enmity between Apple and Google and Adobe is mounting…

“According to TUAW (The Unofficial Apple Weblog) Steve Jobs railed at Adobe and Google at a company all hands meeting.

On Google: “We did not enter the search business. They entered the phone business. Make no mistake: they want to kill the iPhone. We won’t let them [...] This don’t be evil mantra? It’s bullshit.”

On Adobe: “They are lazy. They have all this potential to do interesting things, but they just refuse to do it. They don’t do anything with the approaches that Apple is taking, like Carbon. Apple does not support Flash because it is so buggy. Whenever a Mac crashes more often than not it’s because of Flash. No one will be using Flash. The world is moving to HTML5.” Sounds like the petitions can stop now. If that’s really what Apple’s CEO thinks of Flash, then make no mistake: Flash is never coming to Apple’s mobile devices.” Source: Apple’s Steve Jobs Tells Google, “Bring it!” and Calls Flash Lazy Adobe’s Crash App | uber.la

“What a time we’re living in. You can’t even make fun of your competitors at your own company meeting without your words leaking out to the internet.” Source: Steve Jobs Is Not Happy With Google, Adobe

“Jobs, characteristically, did not mince words as he spoke to the assembled, according to a person who was there who could not be named because this person is not authorized by Apple to speak with the press.” Source: Google’s ‘Don’t Be Evil’ Mantra is ‘Bullshit,’ Adobe Is Lazy: Apple’s Steve Jobs (Update 2) | Epicenter | Wired.com

Elsewhere, Lifehacker shares the best tip yet for making sure your luggage arrives with you…

“If you don’t like your bags being out of your sight and it makes you uncomfortable to think that airline workers are rifling through your stuff, you can take advantage of the TSA’s own security rules by—eek—packing a gun.” Source: Pack a Gun to Protect Valuables from Airline Theft or Loss – Security – Lifehacker

Let’s get to work…
