my good friend nilofer merchant recently let me do her a favor — somehow in the process though, she got confused and thought it was actually me that was doing her the favor! in her confusion, she was kind enough to sign me up for a beer of the month club. silly me I thought that I would get 1 bottle of beer for 6 months in a row but imagine my surprise when last week a box arrived with 12 beers. my initial thought was there must be some mistake – that maybe they had given me a years supply in 1 month, but no that’s how generous my friend nilofer is! when I called her to thank her for her beneficence, she told me that the idea was was I should not only enjoy the beer, but be sure to share it with friends — that’s how she rolls! thoughtful gift…

today I went for a glorious bicycle ride and when I got home I sampled the first beer. normally I don’t like india pale ale — it’s a little too hoppy for me. however in nilofer’s honor — I thought I would start there. I have to say it was delicious! I truly don’t know when I’ve had a better india pale ale…

thanks, nilofer, for the social love, the beer and the great relaxation after my ride. priceless! btw, this post was dictated using voice recognition on my google nexus s while sitting under the shade of a tree drinking ipa. pretty amazing results for voice recognition, eh? unfortunately the only word the phone does not understand is ‘nilofer’. ;-)
