We’re playing a little hooky today, although school doesn’t start until tomorrow in Algoma, WI. I’m sitting in the back of our Chrysler Town & Country while my wife drives us to Door County. On my lap is an Acer 700 Chromebook and I’m using my Google Nexus S as a wireless hotspot. Both of them are near perfect devices for me; since my world is very Google-centric, the Chromebook and an Android phone are perfect fits. Key likes?
- 7 second boot time
- It uses my Google account to sync bookmarks, passwords and extensions between the netbook and the Chrome browser on my desktop
- Great hardware and battery life…
Dislikes?
I’m pretty anal about my hardware. The Acer case retains fingerprint oil and the exterior looks a little grimy after only a couple of weeks. I need to find a good cleaner and I’d be happy for some good recommendations. Also missing? A delete key. These, however, are just minor annoyances compared to the overall joy of using this device…
I’ve already written about how much I love my Nexus S. It’s easily one of the three best gadgets I’ve ever owned. I recommend them both especially in conjunction with a Gmail or Google Apps account…
