Facebook. Love it? Hate it? Trends indicate it’s still an important part of a balanced social media diet. I must admit, however, that Facebook has lost some of its luster for me. Sometimes even I get tired of managing social media and the addition of Google+ to the mix has me a little weary…

In my world, social media networks are a little like having children. Teenagers! They require constant care and feeding and sometimes they snap back. Historically, LinkedIn has been the ‘red headed stepchild’ in my mix. Lately, I’ve been feeling pretty ambivalent about Facebook. Over 1,000 people at Facebook recently became millionaires by selling you and me. Now that that news is over, there’s not much to report. Personally, I’m looking at my Facebook presence and thinking it needs a facelift. My page, for example, doesn’t really reflect recent changes I’ve made to my brand and I need to fix that. Thank goodness the social media course I teach at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College forces me to revisit my social media properties 3x per year or else I’d be in even worse shape!
